Englewood Genealogical Society of FL
Speaker: Susan Well Topic: "Deeds: An Insider's View?"
EVENTS Jan 25, 2012
Meeting & Program: 1:30-3:30
Discover what information to expect from a deed, how to extract the relevant facts from the unfamiliar wording and how to interpret the land description. If there was a time lapse camera inside a land records office, it would show a rhythm to the days and weeks, and seasonality to the year. The speaker has twenty-five years experience in real estate sales and appraisal, and she is ready to share how genealogists can use the nature of these registries to our advantage. Better than an in-person visit may be the online sites to retrieve documents.
Susan Well has been researching her family since 1994. She taught in secondary schools and adult education programs before a long career in real estate sales and appraisal. She is on the Public Relations Director for the Genealogical Society of Sarasota and co-leader of their United Kingdom Special Interest Group. She teaches Genealogy at the Lifelong Learning Academy at USF Sarasota/Manatee. She also searched for information about the neighbors and landlords of ‘Silent Cal’ for her book, CalvinCoolidge: At Home in Northampton.
Refreshments following the program provided by EGSF Hospitality Committee.
